This rare fossil, known as “Buffalo Rock” or Iniskim, honors Blackfoot Tribe folklore surrounding Ammolite’s spiritual significance. Preserved in protective concretions, these ammonites are rich in colorful iridescence. Their formation is linked to ancient meteorite impacts that caused tsunamis, scouring the seafloor and creating fossilized mud balls of varying sizes. Each piece is a testament to the ancient Pierre Seaway and its vibrant history.
